📰 The Headlines
The Zags Are In — Bracket Drops Sunday
GU won the WCC title over Santa Clara on Tuesday. 27th straight NCAA tournament bid. Mario Saint-Supery dropped 21 in the final. Selection Sunday is this weekend, bracket comes out March 15. Early intel has them as a top-3 seed, but that Portland loss and the Michigan blowout might cost them a spot. First-round games start March 19. Watch parties at the usual downtown spots, call ahead.
The Performing Arts Center in the Valley Needs City Money
The director went to city council this week asking for millions to finish the building. It's been in the works for years and is close, just not there. Council was noncommittal. A real performing arts venue in the Valley would fill a gap that's been empty a long time. We'll see.
St. Patrick's Day Is Tuesday
March 17 is a Tuesday. O'Donnell's has seating, Nyne will be packed by 5pm, and the downtown bars run specials all night. If you're going out Sunday instead, fair enough. Tuesday is for the real ones.
That's your signal. Wear green Tuesday. Go Zags.
